Yoseph Woldeamanuel serves as the Country Representative for the Ethiopian Tree Fund Foundation (ETFF), where he plays a pivotal role in advancing sustainable development and climate change mitigation efforts in Ethiopia. With a robust background in natural resource management and environmental awareness, Yoseph is at the forefront of coordinating and managing ETFF's activities across the country. His responsibilities encompass the planning, execution, and monitoring of various initiatives aimed at enhancing biodiversity and promoting carbon finance through innovative projects.
One of his key projects includes leading a comprehensive CDM (Clean Development Mechanism) scoping study, which investigates the potential and barriers within Ethiopia's policy environment and regulatory framework for climate change mitigation. This study, conducted in collaboration with 3 C Climate Care Consulting and sponsored by UNEP, aims to unlock opportunities for emission reduction and carbon sequestration, positioning Ethiopia as a significant player in the Kyoto binding market.
In addition to his project management duties, Yoseph actively organizes workshops and events that foster collaboration among stakeholders, including business and community groups involved in carbon trading. His expertise in climate change mitigation and sustainable development allows him to provide tailored training courses, empowering local communities and organizations to engage effectively in carbon finance initiatives. Through his leadership, Yoseph not only enhances the capacity of the ETFF but also contributes to a broader understanding of the importance of environmental stewardship and sustainable practices in combating climate change in Ethiopia.
