Wong James serves as the Senior Module Development Manager at Lumileds, where he leverages his extensive technical expertise in semiconductor and photonics to spearhead innovative projects in wafer finishing technologies. With a robust background encompassing raw material manufacturing, adhesive and coating processes, and advanced techniques such as photolithography and thin film deposition, Wong is uniquely positioned to drive the development and industrialization of cutting-edge solutions. His role involves overseeing the entire New Product Introduction (NPI) process, ensuring a seamless transition from research and development through engineering and into full-scale production.
At Lumileds, Wong is currently leading key initiatives focused on wafer backgrinding, stealth dicing, laser ablation, and other advanced wafer finishing processes. His hands-on experience with critical technologies such as chemical mechanical polishing (CMP) and laser lift-off enables him to implement innovative strategies that enhance productivity and reduce costs while maintaining the highest safety standards.
