William Hall is a dedicated Health Economist at Vancouver Coastal Health, where he plays a pivotal role in shaping health system decision-making through rigorous economic analysis. With a focus on adverse drug events, William leverages his expertise in quantitative research and decision analysis to inform resource allocation strategies that enhance patient care quality. His current project involves investigating the impact of Direct Oral Anticoagulants (DOACs) on Cerebral Vein Thrombosis (CVT) outcomes, a rare but serious condition that can lead to significant morbidity and mortality. By securing a CIHR Catalyst Grant as a co-applicant, he is positioned to explore how DOACs can not only reduce hospital length of stay and outpatient resource utilization but also improve overall patient outcomes.
William’s proficiency in economic modeling and program budgeting enables him to assess the cost-effectiveness of innovative treatments, ensuring that healthcare investments yield maximum benefits for patients and the healthcare system alike. His skills in discrete event simulation and statistical analysis allow him to create robust models that predict the implications of various healthcare interventions. As he collaborates with multidisciplinary teams, William is committed to translating complex data into actionable insights that support strategic planning and priority setting within the organization. His passion for improving health outcomes through evidence-based decision-making is evident in every project he undertakes, making him an invaluable asset to Vancouver Coastal Health and the broader healthcare community.
