Vivan Tran brings over 15 years of industry experience, with a specialized focus on Drug Safety and Pharmacovigilance (PV) that spans 13 years. Currently serving as an Instructor at San Jose State University (SJSU) College of Professional and Global Education, Vivan plays a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of professionals in the field of drug safety. In her position, she has developed a comprehensive curriculum for the Master’s program on the Fundamentals of Drug Safety and Pharmacovigilance (DSP), which covers essential topics such as the intricacies of safety report timelines to regulatory authorities, Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs), post-marketing surveillance, and an in-depth review of FDA regulations.
Vivan’s extensive background includes building and leading Pharmacovigilance Operations and Compliance departments, where she served as the Head of PV Operations and Lead PV Quality. Her hands-on experience in clinical trials, regulatory submissions, and data management equips her with the practical insights necessary to bridge theoretical knowledge with real-world applications. By creating engaging lecture slides and assignments, she ensures that her students not only grasp the fundamental concepts of Drug Safety and PV but also understand their implications in clinical research and biotechnology.
