Srinivas Kumar Katreddi, CEng, Firse, Fiet, is a distinguished Director of Transit and Rail at WSP USA, where he leverages his extensive expertise in Systems Engineering, particularly within the Safety Critical Systems domain. With 24 years of experience in the field, Srinivas has honed his skills in the analysis, design, implementation, integration, and verification and validation (V&V) of complex systems, including Train Control Systems and Avionics Control Systems. His international and domestic experience equips him with a unique perspective on the challenges and opportunities within the transit and rail sectors.
Currently, Srinivas serves as the Requirements Engineering Manager for the Valley Transit Authority's Berryessa Silicon Valley Phase II (VTA BSVII) project, a pivotal initiative involving a 6.5-mile BART extension through downtown San Jose and into Santa Clara. This ambitious project, featuring a single-bore tunnel configuration with a budget of $9.3 billion, underscores his capability in managing large-scale, safety-critical projects. In this role, he is instrumental in assisting the client with the Request for Proposal (RFP) process and the creation of procurement packages, ensuring that all requirements are meticulously defined and aligned with industry standards.
Srinivas’s proficiency in DO-178B, embedded software, and configuration management, combined with his adeptness in tools like DOORS and ClearQuest, positions him as a leader in the field. His commitment to CMMI practices and requirements analysis further enhances his ability to deliver high-quality, reliable systems that meet stringent safety and performance criteria.
