Shawn Jones is a seasoned IT leader with over 20 years of experience in driving technology initiatives across diverse sectors, including private banking and global non-profits. Currently serving as a member of the Community Safety & Security Committee at Sierra College, Shawn plays a pivotal role in enhancing the institution's commitment to safety and security through innovative technology solutions. In his capacity as the functional Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), he oversees the Security Operations (SecOps) Division, where he is responsible for the development and implementation of comprehensive cybersecurity strategies, policies, and procedures that safeguard the college's digital assets.
In addition to his security oversight, Shawn also leads the Development Operations (DevOps) Division, focusing on streamlining IT processes to improve efficiency and responsiveness to the college's evolving needs. His expertise in IT management and project management enables him to identify and deploy best-in-class technology solutions that align with Sierra College’s strategic objectives. Notably, Shawn has spearheaded key projects that enhance the institution's cyber resilience, including the integration of advanced threat detection systems and the establishment of robust incident response protocols.
