As a senior honors student at Howard University, Sean Northern is deeply immersed in the intersection of psychology and biology, with a keen focus on the biopsychosocial implications of media representation. Currently serving as an Undergraduate Research Assistant in the graduate psychology department’s violence prevention lab, Sean is actively contributing to groundbreaking research that examines the effects of portrayed media violence against Black individuals, specifically within the context of HBCU students. This project not only highlights Sean's commitment to understanding the psychological impacts of media but also underscores his dedication to addressing social justice issues that disproportionately affect marginalized communities.
In his role, Sean employs a variety of research methodologies and statistical analysis tools, including SPSS, to analyze data and draw meaningful conclusions that can inform violence prevention strategies.
