Sam Salama is a seasoned Biomedical Engineer with over a decade of diverse experience spanning domestic, regional, and international landscapes. Currently serving as a Senior Lab Automation Engineer in the Research and Development (R&D) team at GRAIL, Sam plays a pivotal role in the development and construction of an innovative, fully automated platform for Multi-Cancer Early Detection through liquid biopsies. His expertise in product development, lab automation, and robotic systems positions him as a key contributor to projects that are at the forefront of cancer diagnostics.
In his current role, Sam is instrumental in building and validating a custom-made Plasma Isolation System, which is critical for enhancing the accuracy and efficiency of liquid biopsy processes. His hands-on experience with advanced liquid handling systems, including Tecan Fluent, Agilent Bravo, and Hamilton Star, allows him to script and optimize workflows that significantly improve throughput and reliability.
