Sakib Awan, as the founder and Chairperson of East Timor Trading (ETT) Group, has played a pivotal role in shaping the business landscape of Timor-Leste since the nation’s independence. Under his leadership, ETT has emerged as the largest non-oil business in Timor-Leste, employing over 200 Timorese staff and serving approximately 2,200 retail outlets nationwide.
Since retiring as CEO in December 2016, Sakib has focused on strategic oversight and board leadership, steering ETT through a transformative phase that includes diversification into retail, hospitality, and distribution.
