Russell Sloboda serves as the Principal Toxicologist at Nelson Labs, bringing over three decades of specialized experience in toxicological risk assessment and related fields. His extensive expertise encompasses chemical exposure modeling, biocompatibility evaluations, and analytical chemistry, making him a pivotal figure in ensuring the safety and compliance of medical devices and drug container systems. As the lead author of more than 263 toxicological risk assessments (TRAs) and biocompatibility evaluation reports (BERs), Russell has significantly contributed to the understanding of human health risks associated with various products, including 185 medical devices.
In his current role, Russell plays a crucial part in peer reviewing and authoring TRA reports, while also providing strategic input on best practices for the implementation of the recently finalized international standard, ISO 10993-17.
