As the School Counselor at Glendale Primary within the Bedford City School District, I am excited to leverage my extensive experience to foster an environment that prioritizes the social-emotional well-being of our students. My journey began at Norton City Schools, where I dedicated four years advocating for students across various educational stages, from primary to middle school. This foundational experience equipped me with a deep understanding of child advocacy and the unique challenges faced by young learners.
At Bedford City Schools, I have the privilege of collaborating with our Social Emotional Learning (SEL) teams to implement key initiatives that support student growth in critical areas such as social-emotional skills, academics, and career and college exploration. My role involves not only providing individual counseling but also leading restorative justice programs that promote a positive school climate and encourage conflict resolution among students. I believe that fostering a culture of empathy and understanding is essential for student success.
In addition to my counseling responsibilities, I am committed to enhancing our educational framework through effective team leadership and collaboration with nonprofit organizations. My skills in developing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and guiding students through the college application process further enable me to meet the diverse needs of our student population.
