Parijat Basu serves as a Lead PDK Design Engineer at Cadence Design Systems, where he leverages over five years of specialized experience in the development, testing, and support of process design kits (PDKs) across diverse technology nodes and foundries. With a robust academic foundation in electrical and electronics engineering, complemented by a master’s degree from Arizona State University, Parijat has honed his expertise in integrating foundry simulation models with Cadence's advanced simulation tools. His role involves modifying these models to ensure compatibility and accuracy across various operational corners, which is critical for achieving reliable performance in Very-Large-Scale Integration (VLSI) designs.
In addition to model integration, Parijat is adept at creating comprehensive testbenches that rigorously evaluate the simulation models under different conditions, including Monte Carlo analysis and aging modes. His work often focuses on addressing significant device reliability issues such as Hot Carrier Injection (HCI), Bias Temperature Instability (BTI), and Variability-Induced Degradation (WID), particularly prevalent in lower technology nodes. This depth of knowledge enables him to design effective test cases that scrutinize the effects of these challenges, ensuring that the PDKs meet stringent industry standards.
Parijat's technical toolkit includes proficiency in Python, Unix, Verilog, VHDL, and MATLAB, which he utilizes to streamline workflows and enhance productivity. His commitment to employee training and mentorship further underscores his leadership capabilities, fostering a collaborative environment that drives innovation within the team. As a key contributor at Cadence, Parijat continues to push the boundaries of PDK development, ensuring that clients receive cutting-edge solutions that empower their design processes.
