Omar Nabil is a highly skilled API Certified Inspector and Inspection Engineer at Qatar Petroleum (DNV.GL), bringing over a decade of specialized experience in in-service inspection and quality assurance for critical equipment in the energy sector. His expertise encompasses a broad spectrum of inspection methodologies, including Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) strategies, which are essential for optimizing maintenance and ensuring the integrity of pressure vessels, piping systems, and storage tanks across both onshore and offshore oil and gas facilities.
In his current role, Omar plays a pivotal part in the inspection activities for the North Field Alpha (NFA), which comprises six combined platforms. His responsibilities include conducting comprehensive internal and external inspections on various equipment, such as vessels, tanks, columns, towers, and heaters. By meticulously assessing the integrity of these assets, he ensures compliance with industry standards and enhances operational safety. Notably, Omar was instrumental in the successful execution of the PS4 platform's major shutdown in 2015, where he actively participated in all inspection and non-destructive testing (NDT) activities, showcasing his ability to manage complex projects under tight timelines.
