Nick Carbone is a seasoned Senior Principal Piping Designer at WorleyParsons, bringing over 15 years of progressive experience in piping design specifically tailored for the Oil and Gas sector. His expertise is particularly evident in refinery and drill site projects, where he has consistently demonstrated his ability to lead complex design initiatives. Currently, Nick is instrumental in the Chevron SLR Retrofit Project, a significant $500 million endeavor focused on the modular design of a new Iso-Alky unit. His role as the design area lead encompasses overseeing two major areas, which collectively involve the creation of over 700 isometric drawings (isos), showcasing his proficiency in managing large-scale projects with precision and efficiency.
Nick's responsibilities extend beyond design; he has actively contributed to the initial Plot Plan and Equipment Location Plan layout for all major piperacks and equipment, utilizing PFD Process methodologies to ensure optimal placement and functionality. His recent experience traveling to Edmonton, Canada, as a field engineer for module fabrication and assembly highlights his versatility and commitment to project success. This five-month assignment allowed him to apply his skills in a real-world setting, further enhancing his understanding of modular design principles, particularly for sealift and truckable modules, which are crucial for Arctic installations.
With a robust skill set that includes Piping and Instrumentation Drawing (P&ID), engineering work orders, and a deep understanding of Chevron Engineering Standards, Nick is well-equipped to tackle the challenges of modern piping design. His dedication to excellence and innovative approach positions him as a key asset within WorleyParsons, driving forward the future of piping design in the oil and gas industry.
