Mikayla Arciaga serves as the Georgia Advocacy Director and Education Fellowship Coordinator at the Intercultural Development Research Association (IDRA), where she leverages her extensive experience in education and community engagement to drive impactful policy change. In her current role, Mikayla is instrumental in developing and facilitating programming for a coalition of over 200 members, fostering collaboration among educators, advocates, and community leaders to promote an inclusive and equitable public education system. Her expertise in education policy enables her to create and implement comprehensive state policy agendas and advocacy strategies across five critical issue areas, addressing the diverse needs of students and families.
Mikayla's work extends beyond Georgia, as she collaborates with advocates in more than 15 states to share best practices and innovative approaches for leading successful advocacy campaigns. This national perspective enriches her understanding of the systemic challenges faced by underrepresented communities and informs her strategies for effective community organizing. As the coordinator of the IDRA Education Policy Fellows program, she cultivates the next generation of education leaders, equipping them with the skills necessary for impactful advocacy and policy development.
