Michelle Kullmann is a dedicated Certified Grief Yoga® Instructor and Grief Educator at Michelle Kullmann LLC d/b/a Shining Light Grief Support, where she leverages her profound personal experience and professional expertise to guide others through their grief healing journeys. Following the heartbreaking loss of her 18-year-old son in November 2021, Michelle transformed her grief into a powerful mission: to create a supportive environment for those navigating similar paths. Her commitment to community well-being is deeply rooted in her 38 years of living in Madison, where she has consistently championed access to resources that enhance quality of life.
Currently, Michelle is developing an innovative 8-week Grief Yoga® series, designed to integrate mindfulness and movement as therapeutic tools for emotional healing. This program aims to provide participants with a safe space to process their grief while cultivating resilience and self-compassion. Drawing from her extensive background in strategic planning, event management, and public relations—skills honed during her tenure as co-owner and publisher of BRAVA Magazine and her work at the Overture Center—Michelle is adept at creating impactful experiences that resonate with individuals and foster community connections.
In addition to her Grief Yoga® series, Michelle actively engages in fundraising and brand development initiatives to expand the reach of Shining Light Grief Support. Her expertise in media relations and copy editing allows her to effectively communicate the importance of grief education, ensuring that her message reaches those who need it most. Through her work, Michelle Kullmann not only honors her son’s memory but also empowers others to find their own paths toward healing and hope.
