Michael Hagenmayer serves as the Director of Safety for NRG Energy, bringing over 25 years of extensive experience in plant operations and corporate support roles to the forefront of safety management. Since his promotion to this pivotal role following NRG's acquisition of GenOn Energy in 2012, Michael has been instrumental in shaping the organization's safety culture and driving initiatives that align with NRG's overarching goals. His expertise in Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), industrial safety, and occupational health has enabled him to identify and implement strategic safety goals that not only enhance operational efficiency but also foster a workplace environment committed to top decile safety performance.
In his current capacity, Michael oversees the daily activities of three Regional Safety Managers, ensuring that safety protocols are consistently applied across all levels of the organization.
