Gustavo Barrios serves as the Head of Project Controls at ACWA Power, bringing over 15 years of extensive experience in management and planning within the energy and water sectors. His expertise spans a diverse portfolio of multi-technology projects, with a particular focus on renewable energy initiatives, including wind and photovoltaic (PV) systems, as well as innovative solutions in green hydrogen and desalination. Currently, Gustavo is playing a pivotal role in the NEOM Green Hydrogen Project, which is set to revolutionize the energy landscape with over 2 GW of electrolyzer capacity, 4,000 tons per day of ammonia production, and a robust integration of 1.7 GW of wind and 2.4 GW of PV generation, complemented by grid and battery energy storage systems (BESS).
Under Gustavo's leadership, ACWA Power is executing several high-profile projects, including the ambitious Red Sea Project in Saudi Arabia and the Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) Red Stone initiative in South Africa.
