Louisa Jones is a dedicated Choir Director at Thornton High School, where she brings her passion for music and education to life. With a Bachelor of Music Education (vocal emphasis) from the University of Northern Colorado, Louisa has cultivated a rich understanding of various musical genres, including choral music, jazz, and opera. Her current role encompasses teaching a diverse range of choirs, including a Women's Choir, Men's Choir, and Mixed Choir, as well as a Music Fundamentals class. This multifaceted approach not only allows her to cater to the unique interests and abilities of her students but also fosters a collaborative and inclusive environment where all voices can shine.
Louisa is deeply committed to enhancing her students' musical skills through innovative teaching methods that incorporate music theory, vocal techniques, and music technology. She leverages her proficiency in Sibelius and audio recording to create engaging lesson plans that resonate with her students. By integrating contemporary music technology into her curriculum, Louisa prepares her students for the evolving landscape of music education and performance.
In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Louisa actively participates in the choral community by singing in two choirs, which keeps her connected to the latest trends and techniques in vocal performance. Her enthusiasm for music is infectious, inspiring her students to explore their own musical journeys. Through her leadership at Adams 12 Five Star Schools, Louisa is not only shaping the next generation of musicians but also fostering a lifelong appreciation for the arts within her community.
