Lisa Thomas-Kaonohi brings over two decades of diverse experience in architecture and project management to her role as Senior Project Manager at Montgomery College. With a robust background that spans from designer to owner representative, she has honed her expertise in managing complex capital projects within the higher education sector. Lisa's unique skill set allows her to effectively bridge the gap between the aesthetic aspirations of architects and the functional needs of end-users, ensuring that each project aligns with the long-term interests of the institution.
Currently, Lisa is overseeing the construction of the Catherine & Isiah Leggett Math & Science Building, a significant 110,000 square foot facility that is set to enhance the college's educational offerings. This project, which is slated for completion in Spring 2023, involves the demolition of two existing structures to make way for a state-of-the-art learning environment. Lisa’s role encompasses managing the entire project lifecycle, from schematic design through construction close-out, ensuring seamless collaboration among college constituencies, the architectural and engineering team, and contractors. Her adeptness in budget management and program management is critical in navigating the complexities of higher education renovations and new constructions.
