Lawrence Tormey currently serves as the Commanding Officer of the Military Personnel and Logistics (MILPERS/LOGS) Department at the U.S. Coast Guard Sector North Carolina, where he plays a pivotal role in ensuring the operational readiness and efficiency of over 600 Coast Guard personnel across 16 units throughout the state. His extensive background as an Acquisitions Professional and Program Manager (PM III), combined with his credentials as a Civil and Facilities Engineer (PE/PMP), positions him uniquely to oversee a diverse range of critical functions, including personnel administration, civil and naval engineering, procurement and contracting, and health and medical services.
In his current role, Lawrence is instrumental in supporting the operational commander by managing logistics that directly impact mission success. This includes overseeing the procurement of essential resources and services, ensuring that the Coast Guard’s personnel are equipped and prepared to respond to emergencies and execute their duties effectively.
