Laura Hamasaka is a dynamic nonprofit leader currently serving as the Interim Executive Director of Pacific Partners for Tobacco Free Islands (PPTFI), where she spearheads a transformative social change movement across the US Pacific Islands. In this pivotal role, Laura is responsible for developing a comprehensive strategic plan that aligns with the organization’s mission to reduce tobacco use and promote healthier lifestyles. Her expertise in program development and project management has been instrumental in launching high-impact initiatives that have reached over 1 million individuals, fostering community engagement and advocacy.
In addition to her leadership at PPTFI, Laura serves as a consultant for ClearWay Minnesota and the Emory Centers for Training and Technical Assistance at the Rollins School of Public Health. Here, she focuses on securing funding for tribal initiatives, leveraging her extensive experience in philanthropy and fundraising. Laura has successfully written grants totaling up to $1.5 million and has managed grant portfolios of up to $10 million, showcasing her strong capabilities in resource mobilization and financial stewardship.
