As the Program Director for one of San Diego County's START programs at Community Research Foundation, Laura Cooke brings a wealth of experience and expertise to her role, having transitioned from positions such as Mental Health Counselor, Program Coordinator, and Assistant Director since joining the STARTs in 2016. In her current capacity, which she has held since May 2023, Laura is responsible for the comprehensive implementation and monitoring of program services in alignment with the Health and Human Services Agency's Behavioral Health Services (HHSA BHS) contract Statement of Work, as well as the OPO Handbook and CRF policies. Her leadership ensures that all program staff are effectively directed and that client care is prioritized through meticulous oversight of referrals, assessments, ongoing counseling, medication support services, and crisis intervention.
Laura’s recent completion of her Ph.D. underscores her commitment to advancing her knowledge and skills in mental health, making her a valuable asset to the organization and the community it serves.
