Kamakshi Rao serves as an Adjunct Full Professor in the Division of Practice Advancement and Clinical Education at the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy, where she plays a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of pharmacy professionals. With a robust background in hematology-oncology and stem cell transplantation, Dr. Rao is not only a pharmacist-educator but also a mentor and coach dedicated to fostering excellence in clinical pharmacy practice. Her current responsibilities include overseeing a diverse cohort of over 40 residents across 15 different residency programs, ensuring that each resident receives comprehensive training that aligns with the highest standards of healthcare delivery.
In addition to her oversight of residency programs, Dr. Rao is instrumental in executing experiential education for more than 70 pharmacy students, providing them with hands-on learning opportunities that bridge theoretical knowledge with real-world application. Her commitment to education extends to the development and alignment of a research infrastructure designed specifically for practicing pharmacists, enabling them to engage in meaningful clinical research that advances the field of pharmacy.
