Joseph Facs serves as the Director of the 4th Year Surgical Clerkship for the Morsani College of Medicine's USF SELECT program at Lehigh Valley Health Network, where he plays a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of medical professionals. With a profound commitment to the care of injured and critically ill patients, Joseph's expertise in trauma surgery and surgical critical care is complemented by his special interest in geriatric trauma. As Co-Director of Geriatric Trauma, he oversees the care of over 2,000 elderly patients annually, ensuring that this vulnerable population receives the highest standard of medical attention.
In his current role, Joseph is not only responsible for the educational development of medical students but also actively engages in performance and process improvement initiatives that enhance patient safety and regulatory compliance within a Level 1 Trauma Center.
