Henry Cipd is a seasoned global compensation professional currently serving as the Lead Executive & Equity Compensation Partner at Unity. With a robust background in both pre and post-IPO environments, Henry specializes in the design, implementation, and management of comprehensive compensation programs that align with organizational goals and employee expectations. His extensive experience spans large, established corporations and smaller, hyper-growth tech firms, allowing him to bring a unique perspective to compensation strategies that cater to diverse business needs.
In his current role, Henry leads the delivery of Compensation Committee (Comp Committee) and Remuneration Committee (RemCo) materials, actively participating in Comp Committee meetings to ensure that compensation practices are transparent, equitable, and aligned with Unity's strategic objectives. One of his key projects includes the successful redesign and implementation of a post-IPO equity target transition plan, which significantly reduced stock-based compensation (SBC) expenses and dilution/burn rates while achieving an impressive acceptance rate of over 85%. This initiative not only reflects his expertise in equity compensation but also highlights his ability to balance financial prudence with employee engagement.
Henry is also responsible for managing Unity's non-executive equity compensation program on a global scale, ensuring that it meets the needs of a diverse workforce while adhering to regulatory requirements. His skills in Workday Reporting, compensation planning, and the development of effective remuneration structures are instrumental in driving Unity's compensation strategy forward. With a keen focus on employee stock ownership plans (ESOP) and stock compensation, Henry continues to enhance Unity's competitive edge in attracting and retaining top talent in the tech industry.
