George Mazarakis currently serves as the Deputy Project Director at the prestigious joint venture of SAMSUNG, HYUNDAI, and ARCHIRODON, where he plays a pivotal role in the ambitious NEOM Spine Infrastructures project. His extensive experience as a Civil Structural Engineer, coupled with a robust academic background from the National Technical University of Athens, positions him as a key player in the construction industry. Since May 2021, George has been instrumental in overseeing the excavation of twin running tunnels, each spanning 12.6 kilometers, as part of the innovative Drill & Blast construction method (NATM) in the challenging mountain terrain of NEOM.
In his role, George is responsible for managing complex project scopes, including the excavation depths ranging from 20 to 200 meters, ensuring that all engineering and construction activities align with the highest safety and quality standards. His expertise in structural engineering and project estimation is critical in navigating the intricate logistics and technical challenges associated with such a monumental undertaking.
