Under the mentorship of Professor Timothy Rogers and PhD candidate Weili An, Fan is actively contributing to groundbreaking research on dynamic sparsity and control flow techniques in machine learning workloads. This work is pivotal in enhancing computational efficiency on GPUs, a critical aspect of modern chip design and manufacturing. By developing Python scripts to analyze GPU traces from the Accel-Sim simulator, Fan is honing his skills in data analysis and algorithm optimization, which are essential for the advancement of high-performance computing.
