Evan Irish is a seasoned professional accountant with over a decade of experience in the accounting industry, currently serving as the Director of Accounts Payable at WestRock Company, a leading manufacturer of corrugated and consumer packaging products. His extensive background began at a Big 4 firm, where he honed his skills working with Fortune 500 companies and earned a promotion to Audit Manager. This foundational experience equipped him with a deep understanding of financial regulations and compliance, particularly the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, which he now leverages to ensure robust internal controls within WestRock’s financial operations.
In his current role, Evan is responsible for the overall leadership and direction of the Accounts Payable shared services team. He oversees the efficient and accurate processing of both Purchase Order (PO) and Non-PO supplier invoices, ensuring timely cash disbursements that align with the company’s financial strategies. His expertise extends to managing vendor inquiries and the Corporate & P-Card Program, where he implements best practices to enhance vendor relationships and streamline payment processes.
