Emma Herman serves as the Graduate Hall Director at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania, where her passion for fostering vibrant and inclusive communities shines through in her daily interactions with students and staff. In her current role, Emma supervises a team of nine Community Assistants (CAs), guiding them in their responsibilities to support over 200 residents. Through weekly meetings, she ensures that her CAs are not only meeting their job expectations but are also growing in their leadership capabilities, enhancing their interpersonal skills and teamwork.
Emma's commitment to student empowerment is evident in her proactive approach to community building, where she creates an environment that encourages personal and academic growth. She adeptly manages various administrative tasks, ensuring the residence hall operates smoothly and efficiently. Her organizational skills, coupled with her proficiency in tools like Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks, enable her to handle budgeting and reporting with ease, contributing to the overall success of the residence life program.
In addition to her administrative duties, Emma participates in an on-call rotation, responding swiftly to emergency incidents across 12 residencies on campus.
