Deja Cobbs currently serves as the Director of Program Services at First Generation College Bound, where she leverages her extensive background in social work and life coaching to empower students and families on their educational journeys. With a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Maryland Baltimore, Deja specializes in both clinical and macro social work practice, focusing on the unique challenges faced by families and children in underserved communities. Her role involves providing overall leadership and supervision of day-to-day programming activities, ensuring that the organization meets its outcomes and program goals effectively.
Deja is passionate about motivating and encouraging her staff, fostering an environment where both personal and programmatic goals can be achieved. She takes pride in facilitating and creating comprehensive coach training for all College Access Coaches, equipping them with the necessary skills to guide students through the complexities of college access and success.
