Dave O'Neill currently serves as the Senior Manager of Supplier Management for the South and West regions at Daimler Trucks North America, where he leverages over seven years of international experience in production management and industrial engineering. In this pivotal role, Dave directs a dynamic team comprising one manager and four supplier management specialists/quality engineers based in Mexico, alongside four specialists located in Portland. His leadership is instrumental in fostering collaboration across various departments, including purchasing, traffic, materials, manufacturing, production, and product engineering, to drive holistic logistics cost savings initiatives.
One of Dave's key projects involves the development of innovative resourcing and dual tooling scenarios that optimize supply chain efficiency and reduce operational costs. His expertise in Lean methodologies, particularly the Toyota Production System, enables him to implement effective strategies such as Value Stream Mapping and Just-In-Time (JIT) inventory management, ensuring that production processes are streamlined and waste is minimized. Additionally, as a Six Sigma Green Belt, Dave is adept at applying data-driven approaches to enhance quality and performance metrics within the supply chain.
