Brad Chatman serves as the Global Head of Pricing and Valuation at Northern Trust Asset Management, where he leverages his extensive expertise in investment valuation across a diverse range of asset classes. With a deep understanding of both liquid assets—such as exchange-traded equities, government bonds, and investment-grade/high-yield corporate bonds—and illiquid investments including asset-backed securities (ABS), mortgage-backed securities (MBS), and private equity, Brad plays a pivotal role in ensuring accurate and efficient pricing for over 65,000 securities.
In his current role, Brad leads a dedicated Pricing Team of four analysts, overseeing the valuation processes for an impressive $1.3 trillion in assets under management. His leadership extends to a specialized Valuation Team, which includes two analysts focused on more than 100 internally modeled illiquid investments. By chairing the monthly Valuation Committee meetings, he ensures that the valuation methodologies employed are robust and compliant with industry standards, fostering transparency and trust among stakeholders.
