As the Director of Public Policy at Unite To Fight Poverty, I am dedicated to leveraging my expertise in policy analysis and strategic planning to create impactful solutions that address the systemic issues surrounding poverty. My role involves not only developing and advocating for policies that promote health equity and economic empowerment but also fostering partnerships with municipal and state governments, as well as NGOs. One of my key projects has been the implementation of a comprehensive advocacy training program designed to empower individuals from marginalized communities to engage effectively in the political process. This initiative not only enhances their understanding of public affairs but also equips them with the tools necessary for self-advocacy, thereby amplifying their voices in decision-making arenas.
In addition to my work on advocacy training, I am actively involved in conducting social impact assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of our programs and policies. This data-driven approach allows us to refine our strategies and ensure that we are meeting the needs of the communities we serve. My background in conflict resolution and political communication has been instrumental in navigating the complexities of public policy, enabling me to build consensus among diverse stakeholders and drive collaborative efforts toward sustainable change. As a proud Appalachian, I am particularly passionate about addressing the unique challenges faced by rural communities in West Virginia and beyond, ensuring that our initiatives are inclusive and responsive to their specific needs. Through my work at Unite To Fight Poverty, I strive to create a more equitable society where every individual has the opportunity to thrive.
