Adam Shanebrook serves as the Director of the Pilot Plant at GreenLight Biosciences, Inc., where he leverages his extensive background in chemical engineering and biotechnology to drive innovation in the production of biopesticides. With over 20 years of hands-on experience in biotechnology and food process development, Adam has established himself as a key leader in technology transfer, scale-up operations, and commercial process design. His current role involves directing a dedicated team of twelve professionals, focusing on optimizing processes and ensuring the manufacturability of novel RNA-based products.
One of Adam's most notable achievements at GreenLight is the successful establishment of a fit-for-purpose semi-works plant, which has become a cornerstone for the production of Calantha™, the world’s first commercially available RNA biopesticide. This groundbreaking product not only exemplifies the potential of RNA technology in sustainable agriculture but also highlights Adam's expertise in liquid process development, separations, and process optimization.
