Sara Nemati is a dedicated Honors and AP Biology Teacher at Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS), where she passionately engages secondary students in the wonders of science. With a focus on innovative teaching methodologies, Sara strives to create an interactive learning environment that not only covers the curriculum but also ignites a genuine interest in biological sciences. Her expertise in curriculum design is evident as she plans and teaches 9th grade honors biology and 11th and 12th grade AP Biology, ensuring that her students are well-prepared for advanced studies and real-world applications.
Throughout her career at MCPS, Sara has taken on leadership roles, notably serving as the team leader for both the Biology and Physical Science departments. From 2015 to 2018, she guided her biology team through the implementation of new curricula, fostering collaboration and enhancing instructional strategies. Her previous experience as a team leader in Physical Science involved structuring meetings and organizing hands-on labs, which are crucial for developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills in students.
