Amy Cowger is a seasoned professional in the mortgage industry, currently serving as the Regional Conventional and Jumbo Underwriting Manager at Flagstar Bank, where she holds the title of Vice President. With over 22 years of experience, including a decade in management, Amy has cultivated a deep expertise in all facets of mortgage operations, from application through to post-closing processes. Her extensive knowledge encompasses underwriting for conventional and jumbo loans, where she has consistently achieved top marks in both production and quality metrics.
In her current role, Amy oversees a remote team of more than 20 underwriters who are responsible for processing loans across the nation, including unique markets such as the U.S. Virgin Islands, Hawaii, and Alaska. She manages a diverse portfolio of products, including FNMA, FHLMC, jumbo loans, qualified mortgages (QM), and portfolio home equity lines of credit (HELOCs). Amy is committed to maintaining service level agreements (SLAs) and quality goals, ensuring that her team delivers exceptional customer service while effectively resolving any issues that arise during the underwriting process.
