As Co-Director at Pathfinders Inc., Brian Carroll leverages his extensive background in military leadership and technical program management to create a transformative outdoor education experience for participants of all ages. With over two decades of service as a commissioned officer and master naval engineer in the United States Coast Guard, Brian brings a unique blend of discipline, strategic thinking, and hands-on expertise to his role. He is responsible for overseeing a sprawling 255-acre outdoor center, where he manages not only the facilities and equipment but also a diverse array of outdoor education programs designed to foster personal growth and teamwork among participants.
Under Brian's leadership, Pathfinders Inc. has successfully implemented a day camp program that serves nearly 900 children from kindergarten through high school, providing them with invaluable skills in outdoor recreation and safety. His commitment to excellence is evident in his meticulous approach to risk management, ensuring that all activities are conducted safely and effectively. Brian’s expertise in emergency management and technical data analysis further enhances the organization’s ability to respond to challenges and optimize program delivery.
In collaboration with his co-director, Brian recruits and trains a dedicated team of seasonal and part-time staff, as well as volunteers, to support the center's mission.
