Hannes De Beer serves as a Senior Process Control Engineer at Woodside Energy, where he plays a pivotal role in enhancing operational efficiency and reliability within the dynamic landscape of liquefied natural gas (LNG) production. His expertise in advanced process control (APC) is instrumental in troubleshooting control systems and resolving faults across both APC and base layer operations. Hannes is currently spearheading the revamp and migration of LNG train APC systems, a critical project aimed at optimizing production processes and ensuring seamless integration of new technologies.
In addition to his primary responsibilities, Hannes has taken on the role of Process Control Lead for several large-scale initiatives, where he has successfully designed and implemented innovative control strategies tailored to meet the unique challenges of the gas and petroleum sectors. His proficiency in testing and deploying advanced monitoring tools, such as the Plant State Suite and Controller Performance Monitor, has significantly enhanced the capability to track and improve control performance across various operations.
With a strong foundation in process control, optimization, and commissioning, Hannes is adept at navigating the complexities of distributed control systems (DCS) and front-end engineering design (FEED). His deep understanding of piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID) further enhances his ability to contribute to the development of robust control frameworks that drive operational excellence. As Woodside Energy continues to push the boundaries of innovation in the LNG industry, Hannes De Beer remains a key player in shaping the future of process control engineering.
