Verdi Ahern BA, HDip (IHM), MBus, MRICS, MSCSI serves as the Student Experience Project Officer at University College Cork (UCC), where he plays a pivotal role in enhancing the overall student experience. With a strong academic background and a passion for fostering community among students, Verdi is currently pursuing a PhD in Sociology, focusing on the creation of positive experiences within the student community. His research aims to explore how effective community development can significantly enhance student satisfaction and engagement.
In his current role, Verdi supports the Head of Student Experience in implementing a variety of enhancement projects designed to elevate the student journey at UCC. This includes the development of a new student hub, which aims to serve as a central space for social interaction and support services, as well as initiatives focused on student accommodation and social integration. Verdi leads project development through collaborative staff workshops and student focus groups, ensuring that the voices of students are integral to the planning process. By leveraging student feedback, he aims to create a responsive environment that meets the evolving needs of the student body.
Verdi's expertise in management, event planning, and public relations, combined with his proficiency in Microsoft Office and social media, allows him to effectively communicate and engage with diverse stakeholders.
